Baby #4 [Over.Due]

Overdue.

This is the first pregnancy I've ever used that term. Don't fourth babies know they're not allowed to be your longest pregnancy? I am 40 weeks + 2 days as of today, as my due date was August 5. I had Sophie at 40+1, but I went into labor on my due date and headed to the hospital in the wee hours of the morning on the day after. Brielle was exactly 1 week early (39+0), and Lyla was two weeks early (38+0). I certainly expected to have this baby before my due date as well, but she gets to call the shots, and she apparently is still cooking to perfection :)

(37 weeks)

(40 weeks)

I've been finding lots of ways to keep busy.

 Visiting the zoo...

Gardening (this was my first produce... a snap pea. And then I only got about 5 more snap peas before my pea plant died :p Thankfully most of my other plants are doing better!) ...

Going to the lake...

Potty training... Lyla is potty trained!!!!

Going to family camp at Gull Lake...

And last night we even set up the tent in our backyard and had a campout! Ben told me I didn't have to sleep in the tent, but I figured there are only so many times you get to sleep in a tent when you are overdue with a baby ;) I definitely was a bit achy when I woke up, but it was a fun family time.

Movement: Baby Girl is getting pretty squished in my belly. I mostly feel her these days when she hiccups (which is typically at least once a day) and when she pushes out her foot on the left side of my stomach, which is often, and I usually push it back in :p. She does sometimes move her bottom around too.

Sickness/Pain: I am definitely getting achier. I roll out of bed these days :) I mostly feel achy and uncomfortable while trying to sleep. During the daytime, I still get around easy enough, although I'm definitely slower, and if I walk much, I feel it. I have braxton hicks occasionally, but even they are occasional and not painful. This is my first baby that I have had braxton hicks with, actually! I can tell they aren't real contractions because I can't time them. (On a side note, I don't have Group B Strep this time! Yay!)

Weight Gain: 35 pounds

I am really feeling pretty comfortable and know that this little girl will come soon, so I don't mind being overdue for the most part. I was feeling a little grouchy on my due date, but I think I just needed to get it all out ;) We didn't make any plans this past weekend, and it was fun to just be able to make spontaneous plans each day. It's also special to get in these extra moments with the three big sisters <3 I always get sentimental about the last few days of my current baby being the baby, and so it's been nice to have these extra days with Lyla as the baby, and tonight I was singing her a "baby Lyla" song that I made up for my girls when Brielle was a baby, and she thought it was the best (and then Sophie and Brielle asked me to sing their versions to them). We are all excited to meet his little girl, and I can't wait to see if she looks like any of her big sisters or has her own look! The anticipation is fun :)

And for fun, here are each of my babies as newborns:

  1. 1. I love how Lyla's swim shirt doesn't fit/stay over her belly:-P
    2. Overdue! Those early kids are so unfair to the future kids, waaaaah. You're still right on time; stay patient as you are.
    3. I can't wait to meet heeeeer!
